Our client is a major global financial services and fintech consultancy partnering with tier-1 banks on large-scale transformation, core systems modernization, and mission-critical operations. With deep expertise across capital markets infrastructure, batch processing, and enterprise scheduling platforms, they support some of the world’s most complex and high-volume financial environments where stability, resilience, and precision are non-negotiable.

ROLE MISSION
The mission of this role is to design, operate, and continuously optimize a mission-critical batch scheduling ecosystem supporting enterprise banking platforms. You will act as a subject-matter expert for Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS), leading incident response, supporting large-scale migrations and releases, and driving automation and operational excellence across batch and scheduler platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, modify, and maintain TWS batch plans, including impact analysis, workload forecasting, and request validation
• Administer and support TWS components across environments (TWS, DWC, WebAdmin, framework, DB2, workstation agents)
• Lead Severity 1 incident response, cross-functional troubleshooting, service restoration, and root-cause analysis
• Diagnose and resolve service degradation, including scheduler data recovery, log management, and backup/restore activities
• Manage batch server and file system health, including flat file cleanup, backups, and data retention controls
• Coordinate batch activities during releases, DR exercises, environment migrations, and platform changes
• Lead onboarding/offboarding, site migrations, environment creation, and annual testing activities
• Monitor and optimize batch and satellite performance, calendars, resources, dependencies, and workflows
• Develop automation using Unix shell, Python, and Ansible to improve operational efficiency and reliability
• Maintain documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and change records to support audit and governance requirements

CORE COMPETENCIES

• Deep expertise in Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) and related components (MDM, FTA Unlinks)
• Strong Unix shell scripting and Python skills for automation and tooling
• Strong understanding of batch scheduling concepts, dependencies, and performance tuning
• Proven experience in incident management, crisis response, and cross-team coordination
• Knowledge of monitoring, capacity planning, and performance optimization
• Familiarity with DB2, batch file systems, and large-scale environment migrations
• Experience with ticketing and QA tools (Jira, HP Quality Center)
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience in TWS administration and batch processing
• End-to-end expertise across TWS planning, installation, configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting
• Strong Unix shell scripting and at least intermediate Python proficiency
• Demonstrated experience resolving batch failures, file system issues, and capacity constraints
• Comfortable working in complex, high-availability production environments

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated environments
• Hands-on exposure to disaster recovery planning (DRP) and site migrations
• Experience managing TWS across multiple environments (dev, test, prod)
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for batch and scheduler deployment
• Knowledge of modern backup, restore, and data management practices
