ROLE MISSION

·    Your work will be focused on the Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) Applications i.e. Allegro, ZEMA and associated interfaces.

·   Work with users from across the business and cover functionality across the end-to-end trade lifecycle, focusing on the requirements from the Front Office (FO) and Middle Office (MO).

  • Perform hands-on work on the trading system and data, and will be required to develop appropriate technical skills, eg. SQL, PowerQuery, Excel, etc. to do so effectively.
  • Work effectively in different types of IT delivery team, such as in smaller agile teams, in Scrum and DevOps models; and larger IT delivery teams with controlled process for plan, build, test and release in Waterfall models.  
  • Work with company standard processes and tools including Confluence, JIRA and ZEPHYR.
  • Work across 3rd line support, small change and projects and be responsible for the work in the context of the Business Intelligence (BI) tool.
  • Acting as BI Tool Functional Subject Matter Expert with knowledge of what tools are being used by different teams and how they are used
  • Working with the users to identify their needs and then documenting requirements in a well structured manner.
  • Performing hands-on system or data analysis to identify change requirements
  • Working with other members of the BI Team to estimate changes and create a delivery plan
  • Running prioritisation and status update meetings with other IT teams and users
  • Supporting release planning and go-live

TALENT PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree in numerate subject or equivalent professional qualification
  • 5 years’ experience as an IT Business Analyst, Analyst Developer or Middle Office Analyst directly within a trading house, investment bank, or through a tier-1 vendor/consultancy
  • Experience of Commodities Trading and experience working with an ETRM application e.g. Allegro, Endur, Aspect
  • Experience analysing trade data such as pricing, P&L, etc. using analytical tools such as SQL, PowerQuery, Excel, etc.

The candidate should also have the following soft skills:
