With a strong presence in over 40 countries, their Global Procurement & Trading Center is headquartered in Singapore. This dynamic entity manages procurement, trading, supply chain, and logistics activities on a global scale, handling multi-billion trading transactions annually. They are now seeking a Financial Manager to join their team and contribute to their mission of sustainable growth and operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities
As a Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring financial compliance, improving processes, and managing risks. Your key responsibilities will include:
Ensure Compliance
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financials (Balance Sheet, P&L, Free Cash Flow) to ensure accuracy and compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and group norms.
- Oversee statutory and tax filings, including audits, transfer pricing, and surveys, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Safeguard the company’s assets through efficient inventory management and follow-up processes.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging to minimize credit loss risks.
- Execute month-end and year-end closing tasks with precision and timeliness.
- Perform accounting entries (AP/AR/GL) and reconciliations in full compliance with tax, IFRS, and group standards.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including accounting, tax, treasury, legal, and compliance teams.
Improve Processes
- Propose and implement improvements to accounting flows and data structures.
- Design, document, and communicate internal processes within your area of responsibility.
- Drive efficiency and automation in financial processes.
- Address and resolve issues reported by end-users, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on changes in the information systems ecosystem.
Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate risks in your area of responsibility.
- Regularly communicate and address potential compliance issues with key stakeholders.
Ideal Talent
We are looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and collaborative professional who thrives in an international environment. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience: 4-5 years as a senior accountant or junior financial controller, with audit experience and a professional qualification in Accountancy (ACCA, CPA, CA Singapore). Experience with Shared Service Centres is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Comprehensive accounting expertise, knowledge of internal control principles, proficiency in finance information systems, and advanced skills in Microsoft and Google Suites.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills. A team player with a proactive mindset, autonomy, and a passion for sports.
- Language: Fluency in English is essential.
Day-to-Day
- Conduct financial analysis and ensure compliance with international and group standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve financial objectives.
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor and manage risks, ensuring the security of company assets.
- Engage with a global network of stakeholders to support the company’s financial operations.
