As part of their continued growth and commitment to excellence, they are seeking a Tax Manager ASEAN to join their dynamic team in Singapore. This role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and play a pivotal role in managing tax matters across the ASEAN region.

Job Responsibilities

As the Tax Manager ASEAN, you will:

Provide Strategic Support to the Group Tax Team on Global Matters

  • Manage and support the process of Bilateral Advance Pricing Agreements (BAPA).
  • Conduct functional analyses and benchmarking studies of the Group's operational components.
  • Develop and execute tax-efficient strategies, including activities within entities and ownership structures.
  • Provide technical support for preparing Local Files, ensuring alignment with Group Tax policies and strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with OECD standards for intra-group cross-border flows.
  • Identify tax optimisation opportunities, such as initial losses, profit repatriation, or local tax advantages.
  • Analyse local tax specifics, including tax rates, fiscal integration regimes, and VAT groupings.
  • Monitor the cash pooling system, including withholding tax management, tax credits, and identifying tax-saving opportunities.
  • Review local thin capitalisation rules.

Manage Local Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Oversee and manage all Singapore tax reporting and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Singapore tax regulations, including corporate tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing, as well as Group Tax policies.
  • Stay up to date on Singapore tax regulations and serve as the tax reference for all Singapore entities.

Regional ASEAN Tax Relay and Referent

  • Act as a trusted advisor and referent for tax matters across the ASEAN region.
  • Track and explain the trajectory toward the target Effective Tax Rate (ETR) of the ASEAN subsidiaries.
  • Prepare and conduct training for new CFOs and local tax professionals.
  • Manage and review tax provisions (IFRIC 23).

Ideal Talent

We are looking for a team player and collaborator who thrives in a dynamic and complex environment. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax Law, or a related discipline.
  • At least 4 years of relevant corporate taxation experience in a public accounting firm (Big 4 preferred) and/or multinational corporation (MNC).
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore tax laws and regulations, as well as international regulations (OECD standards).
  • Relevant experience with Transfer Pricing, tax litigation, tax advisory, and dealing with tax authorities.
  • Key attributes such as:
    • Rigour in execution.
    • Adaptability and decision-making ability.
    • Strong analytical skills for thinking in complex environments.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Day-to-Day

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with CFOs and tax professionals across ASEAN to provide expert tax advice and technical support.
  • Ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations.
  • Identifying and implementing tax optimisation strategies.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor for tax matters within the ASEAN region.
  • Conducting training sessions and supporting the professional development of local tax teams.
