They are looking for an Operations Director based in Thailand (Nonthaburi or Chonburi) reporting directly to the VP Quality and operations.

Job Responsibilities

As the Operations Director, you will play a pivotal role in managing daily production operations with external manufacturing partners. Your responsibilities will include:

Production Execution and Readiness

  • Overseeing daily manufacturing readiness to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Monitoring build progress, yield data, and quality performance to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Ensuring accuracy and adherence to production documents, work instructions, and revision controls.
  • Coordinating material availability with the Supply Chain team to prevent production delays.

Operational Performance Management

  • Tracking and reporting key performance metrics such as output, yield, labour hours, and downtime.
  • Leading daily production meetings with external partners to review progress and resolve issues.
  • Escalating critical issues with clear analysis and accountability for resolution.
  • Driving lean manufacturing practices and process discipline with external partners.

Issue Resolution and Problem Solving

  • Acting as the first point of escalation for production disruptions.
  • Leading structured problem-solving initiatives and verifying corrective actions.
  • Collaborating with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve nonconformances and rework processes.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Serving as the operational link between Global Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Communicating real-time production status, risks, and recovery plans to senior leadership.
  • Supporting new product introductions and design changes by ensuring readiness across functions.
  • Providing data and insights for business reviews, capacity planning, and vendor evaluations.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and enhance process control.
  • Establishing consistent operating practices across all manufacturing partners.
  • Supporting transitions to new production partners or product lines through readiness planning.

Ideal Talent

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional who embodies the following:

  • Experience: 8–12 years in manufacturing operations, production management, or external manufacturing oversight, ideally within the semiconductor industry.
  • Expertise: Over 3 years of experience working closely with and managing contract manufacturers.
  • Skills: Results-oriented, process-driven, and adept at managing manufacturing relationships and cross-functional communication.
  • Attributes: A hands-on, detail-oriented operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, bringing structure, data-driven decision-making, and accountability.

Day-to-Day

  • Oversee and manage daily production operations at external manufacturing sites.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment.
  • Lead problem-solving initiatives and implement corrective actions to address production challenges.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and quality.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to senior leadership on production performance and risks.

  • Location: Bangkok, Thailand, with on-site presence at the Contract Manufacturing Partner in Thailand.
  • Employment Type: Permanent, full-time.
