Our Client

Our client is a fast-growing education investment group headquartered in Singapore, currently managing multiple preschool assets across Singapore and Malaysia. With ongoing acquisitions and plans to expand into primary and high school levels, the group is now strengthening its finance function to support its growth.

The organisation is working towards a mid-term transition to a franchise model, with a longer-term ambition of pursuing an IPO in Singapore or Hong Kong. This role will be central in establishing strong financial governance, cost discipline, and strategic advisory for the Chairman and Board.


Job Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations for all Singapore and Malaysia entities.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modelling for the group.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the Chairman and Board.
  • Analyse portfolio performance and provide insights to support investment and operational decisions.

Cost Control & Vendor Consolidation

  • Conduct cost analysis to identify savings opportunities across all schools.
  • Lead vendor consolidation negotiations for key services (cleaning, catering, maintenance, etc.).
  • Implement a centralised vendor management framework to ensure standardisation and value optimisation.

Governance, Compliance & External Accounting Management

  • Manage and oversee the external accounting firm to ensure accurate bookkeeping, tax/GST filings, closing activities, and audit support.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements in both Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Strengthen internal controls and risk management processes as the group scales.

Strategic Advisory to Chairman & Board

  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to senior leadership, providing clear insights and recommendations.
  • Proactively identify irregularities, risks, and operational issues, escalating them with actionable solutions.
  • Advise the Board on financial best practices, governance structures, and long-term financial planning.
  • Support the preparation and reporting requirements necessary for future franchising and IPO readiness.

Growth Support, M&A and Integration

  • Participate in financial due diligence for new acquisition targets.
  • Support integration of newly acquired entities, including systems alignment and reporting setup.
  • Establish unified financial dashboards and KPIs across the portfolio.

Ideal Talent

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • 6–12 years of relevant finance experience in multi-site businesses, education, healthcare, retail, or family office environments.
  • Strong capabilities in financial analysis, planning, budgeting, and modelling.
  • Experience managing external accounting firms or outsourced finance teams.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, statutory reporting, and internal controls.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present insights clearly to senior management and board members.
  • A proactive, independent, detail-oriented work style suited for a lean and rapidly growing organisation.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience leading vendor or cost-optimisation initiatives.
