The role is to be accountable at regional level as Director of Business Development for the UPP regional affiliates.

  • The company Eren will need to be integrated into the existing team which will likely require some flexibility in future role allocation.



Scope of Responsibility

The role is to set up organically from nothing the Business Development Department for the solar utility scale business in region to ensure that we can expand to be leading solar businesses in the countries of operation. This involves supporting the launch of legal entities, new products, regulatory processes, business infrastructure, supporting tenders, leading the equity raise to find a suitable joint venture partner, supporting non recourse debt financing, sourcing and leading relationships with key business partners and building a team.


This is a key role in managing the capital investment process. As such, the Director must understand all commercial, legal, technical and financial elements of every project going for approval. They must be equipped to analyse and validate the returns and viability of each project. They must be a key person internally for the various development, technical and operations teams to engage with for strategic direction and for instructions on implementation of project or country level planning.

Geographical coverage

All of Asia Pacific. Core markets to be confirmed following strategic analysis and adjusted as regulations change.

 

Financials and Investment

EQUITY: source investors to buy % operating solar projects and potentially support on development processes.


DEBT: support debt raising process for all projects reaching FID.

 

Lead Joint venture coordination with partners both at regional and local level. At local, focus on setup and then passing relationship to local Sales Team. At Regional level to comanage that relationship with MD APAC

Lead and grow relationship with other company Group entities helping to source support for sales and other functions.

 

IDEAL TALENT 

  • Must have experience in capital investment decision making,
  • M&A (preferably in Asia).
  • Proven ability to operate effectively with autonomy.

  • Commercial skills – ability to negotiate contracts with all levels of counterparty business.
