They are looking for a Senior Accounting Specialist.
Job Responsibilities
As a Senior Accounting Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in the General Accounting team, managing accounting controllership processes for US GAAP and local statutory reporting across the APAC region. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing operational and month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, analytical reviews, and financial reporting.
- Managing one or more functional accounting processes for entities within the Asia Pacific region.
- Supporting strategic cross-functional projects, including requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, and process implementation.
- Partnering with global and cross-functional stakeholders to establish a cadence for reviews and collaboration.
- Driving and participating in process improvement initiatives using analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Balancing global systems and processes with local country-specific regulations.
- Participating in quarterly reviews, annual audits, and project testing for relevant areas of ownership.
- Performing general accounting duties, including financial closing, reporting, analytical reviews, and statutory audits.
- Contributing to other duties and projects as assigned.
Ideal Talent
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting/Finance. Chartered Accountant/CPA certification is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in MNCs and/or Big 4 firms, with proficiency in US GAAP and IFRS.
- Experience in the life sciences and/or manufacturing industries is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- A proven track record in driving projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in SAP is required; experience with data analytics tools and reporting is a plus.
Day-to-Day
Your daily activities will include:
- Managing and executing month-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address complex accounting issues and implement process improvements.
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements.
- Supporting audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Leading or participating in strategic projects and initiatives to support business expansion and operational efficiency.
