Reporting directly to the APAC COO, we are looking for a Senior Business Planning consultant, CIB APAC.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conduct in-depth market research and benchmarking of CIB activities, with a focus on identifying growth opportunities and best practices.
- Analyse and interpret financial models, including P&L and revenue forecasts, to assess market activities and market share.
- Provide strategic insights and challenge existing business perspectives, acting as a sounding board for senior leadership.
- Map and compare CIB businesses, both internally and against the wider market, to inform strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and present findings to senior stakeholders, including the COO and Head of Asia, with clarity and confidence.
- Collaborate with business leaders to develop actionable recommendations and support the implementation of strategic initiatives.
- Engage with a range of stakeholders across the business, with the potential for involvement in compliance and risk discussions at later stages.
Ideal Talent
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- 10–15 years’ experience in market research, strategy, or management consulting, ideally within the CIB or financial services sector.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to independently utilise research tools and interpret complex financial data.
- Proven track record of delivering strategic insights and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to confidently engage with senior business leaders.
- Experience in benchmarking, market mapping, and identifying growth opportunities within the CIB space.
- Ability to challenge established thinking and bring fresh perspectives to the table.
- English fluency required; additional Asian language skills are advantageous but not essential.
- Regional experience in APAC markets (Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Australia, etc.) is highly desirable.
Contract Details
- Initial contract of 4–6 months, with the possibility of extension to 12 months or conversion to a permanent role, depending on business needs and performance.
- Competitive remuneration, commensurate with experience and market benchmarks.
- Fast-track interview process (up to three rounds with senior leaders).
